Our group has been doing this sort of thing for a couple of monyhs now and we have managed to go to quite a few places around and in lexington.
This is a list of the places we have been that we believe are not haunted.
yadkin college: off of yadkin college road in lexington. was actually an old schoolhouse many MANY years ago.now seems to be used for storing someones junk. after investigating for about 3 hours, no evp evidence, no photographic evidence, not even an odd noise or feeling.
house at the end of yadkin college road: creepy looking old farm house at the very end of the road( probably circa 1920). no evps, no odd happenings. neat old house and nothing more.
Jackson creek road: off of 64 just outside of asheboro(more or less). supposedly a man shot his wife to death on the front porch in the 30's or 40's and then went upstairs and shot himself. the house is just about to fall down due to the extra large tree that has fallen on top of the back side of it. if ever a house looked like it should be haunted, this is the one. we have been there on 3 different occasions and have yet to get anything. the house is in REALLY bad shape. anyone who decides to go there should use extreme caution. our team believes it to be just another creepy looking old abandoned house.
The bryan center: off ofold 85N just outside of lexington. An old nursing home that was shut down due to mistreatment of residents and a fire that broke out. good place to find a bum looking for shelter, badlace to find any evidence of the paranormal.
just a few of the places we have been to and believe to not be haunted. if anyone wants to check them out for themselves, I can give relatively good directions to any of them. just be carefuland don't say we didn't warn you.

That some cool info Joe and nice of you to post it! I live in Davidson County and it's good to know I will not ever waste my time on the places you listed. Seems like the Bryan Center would have been a good place - but oh well. That's one of my fears in these old places - running into a bum who's squatting there! That would probably scare the bejezzus outta me! Thanks again!

A few more places that alsodon'tseem to have any activity after SEVERAL investigations....
Mt Ebel Church : In denton st the very end of mt ebel road. Sitting in the church in the dark does makeyoufeellike youare being watched.... but that's about it. No EVPs, no oddities in any pics or video, not even an odd shadow out of the corner of one's eye.
An update and possible retraction:
After a couple more trips out to the bryan center, I think I may list this place as a POSSIBLE haunting. On our last 2 investigations there we have gotten some pretty odd sounds, responses to questions with tapping (once for yes, twice for no), and even a possible "apparition" according to 2 other team members who, after independant questioning, had almost identical descriptions of what they observed. I and the founder of our group also observed an extremely odd "shadow" moving down the short hallway in the "L" corridor.
We may possibly have a few EVPs but with the noise from the nearby highway it is almost impossible to know for sure.
I still suggest bringing a really good flashlight and a nice big stick in the event of finding a local bum bedding down for the night if you guys decide to go there.
as always be carefuland leave it as you found it.

Another place allegedly haunted is the old Hampton House on Hampton Road. Doesn't seem to be, though it certainly LOOKS like it should be!

Hmmm... The old city hall in Thomasville is supposedly haunted by a guard or policeman (not remembering which) who died in the elevator shaft... The old SanMor Factory...

Try the community college. There is an old school building across from the nature trail that once was used to worship Satan. The college had to put a lock on it to keep kids out. There is a faint pentagram on the floor and ruins written all over the the chalk board. The Gee building, PSS, The Love building, the sinclair, and Mendenhall are all Haunted. I worked at the college and KNOW for a fact that it is a well of activity. Oh the Daycare also has activity but no one usually pays attention to the kids when they see something there.
I lived in a house on Kaye drive down behind Central. I have loads of stories about that place. I returned there as an adult to "face the demons of my past" and spirits came home with me. Anyone know which house I'm talking about. It was the one in the curve that had so many wrecks at. The local "dead man's curve".

There are stories about the Hampton House... BUT... they mostly seem to be of the made up variety. People actually LIVE in a new section built onto the house, which is almost a clone of the Hunt House in Yadkin. Also surrounded by a security fence, which, in terms of legality, means "Don't come here." You might catch the popel at home sometime, though, and ask them...

TLane There is this really old house on the road I live on - drive by it everyday - really really wanted to stop and look at it. I never could build up the nerve to stop and ask. One day, I got my friend to go with me, she likes old houses too, and I finally worked up the nerve, went to the neighbors of the house and asked if I could look at it. They were more than happy to let me walk around it and take some pictures. I never got to go inside (dang it), but I got to walk all around it, look in the windows AND they brought out a book of Davidson County history that had a picture of that house in it saying it was built between 1825 and 1850 AND they brought out a picture of their ancestors standing in front of the house (with their horses!) and were telling me who all the people in the pic were! It was a really great experience! So work up your nerve!! Go talk to the people!! You never know what may happen!!!

Well hello Davidson Countians!! I would also like to tell you about some of the places in & around. But first I must warn you!!! IF you go to these places PLEASE get written permission from land owners or care takers. It is of the utmost importance that we don't make ghost hunting illegal for those of us that are truly dedicated to the art of spirit seeking. I know for a fact that officials would love nothing more than to put some trespassers in jail just to make a point. We don't want that. So please respect the property & the owners. Now, I'd like to Thank Joe for the info on Jackson Rd. I was just contacted about this place this past week in fact! On Hampton Rd. The people that now own & live in the Hampton House do not want to be bothered. The fence around the property should be a sign, but for some it's not. Traveling on down Hampton, did you ever notice the small graveyard & building on the right? That is the FIRST black school of Davidson County. I have been there several times, but with nothing to allow me to say anything paranormal is happening. I just like the history of it! I have also heard of the T'ville police station being haunted. Another group investigated there not to long ago, but I am unsure of their name or of the evidence they captured. There is also a lot of talk about the old school on Colonial Dr. I have had several experiences there myself, whispers in my ear, music come blaring over the speakers, just to name a few. It can not be formally investigated as "the County" does not allow that. I checked, & I was even an employee at that time. There are stories that you hear, but I have researched most of them to find that they are just that, STORIES. I will try to do better at keeping you informed on the happenings in the county as far as ghosts go, please do the same if you hear about anything. Until next time, Happy Haunting EV1
