Hi there, just registered
just found your IDE and i must say i like it allot, never was to happy about the official bmax IDE; and the same goes for Blide.
however this ide has a bright future
anyway, some parts still has a long way to go, and here is my feedback, some of it you might now about alredy... but here goes anyway
note:
- The bottom log window is not resizeable.
- if you create a function, have Folding turned ON, and don't Tab in one step(i always do this, so it don't bother me mutch)... it will not show the folding lines+buttons in the left side. (i guess this is a scintilla problem, and not in your ide... but i just thought i should mention it anyway
- It would be more practical, and logical, if the right view (help, files, functions and so on) would set the background color in the theme section, possible the same as the background in the code window.
- The thing i miss the most, is tabs to select a document(preferably mIRC style)... MDI is great, i use it in allot of programs i have written(this one for example...
wushukid.proboards92.com/index.cgi?board=about&action=display&thread=1164318043), but when you have 10-15 documents open, and have to click a next/back button to step threw each one ... i know you have listed all files in right view, but i hate that view (cus i have low resolution), and some sort of tabs would be nice ether above or below your source window, you can even make it invisible by default so that you don't change your current minimalistic look, but people should still have the option...
- Another thing i really miss is some sort of debugger, but i guess that you people just haven't had time to implement things like that yet, i can live with out it for a little longer i guess
- I also miss short cuts for some actions, like toggle bookmark.
bugs:
- Rem/Endrem displays the second part as a syntax(blue+bold with my ide settings), and the first Rem is green as it should, everything in that block is shown as normal code, not as comments.
- Here is something bigger, it seems like your program is Much slower to compile and execute source in debug mode, than official Bmax IDE... takes like 5-10secs in normal bmax, but more like 4-5 times longer in Hydra?, when this happens it also seem to choke my computer/CPU and makes everything in windows lag big time, for example... if i play winamp in the background the music stops for a sec, this never happens in standard bmax ide. (thread priority issues?)
- Not sure if this is a bug or not, i just dont see the point if it isent...
if i compile something in debug mode, and it has an error and it crashes, it opens up a new empty blank window ( myfile~1.BMX).
anyway... overall, i think your IDE is very sweet, and I'm going to continue to use it for now
keep up the good work
sorry for the big post... and the bad spelling... dyslexia+not my native language
