I may be late to the party here, but we have firm evidence that Richfield Rd. gravity hill is an optical illusion. We went out with several different tools (most effective was a carpenter's level...) and confirmed that it was downhill for 3/4 of the way, then levels out. I have video footage and pictures if anyone wants them. Thanks

if you turn around and come back down the road and stop your car at the start line as you 1st started, your car will go backward also. this happen anytime of the day or night. Yes people in Denton area are crazy country people. Yes they like to scare the ones that come down there at night to scare them off and never come back. but it is a Gravity pull from the earth.

Richfield Gravity Hill is on Richfield Road, nowhere near Reed Gold Mine, but can probably be considered close to Gold Hill. The VFD right there is my voting location and was a school bus stop when I was in elementary school.
It works on either side of the road, meaning you can go frontwards or backwards. I don't know about ghosts - I grew up less than a mile from there, but ONE time I was on the way to the grocery store in Richfield about 3 years ago and there was a weird mist in the morning, which wouldn't be that unusual except there wasn't any anywhere else and there are plenty of creeks and low lying areas that usually DO have mist or fog laying across.
As for the "Jeepers Creepers" experience: the locals like to play tricks on the kids who come to experience the hill. Not saying it wasn't a real weirdo because there is some weird shit that goes down around the river, but as a teen I was part and party to scaring kids. The experience you describe sounds like a friend of mine who always has some jacked up trucks and lives down the road in a creepy old farmhouse that could fit right in a chainsaw massacre movie. He actually runs a Haunted Trail over in Gold Hill for Halloween. Fun guy!
Last year on one of the Friday the 13ths, we rode through there and two teenagers were dressed in black and jumped out at us. Not a safe idea but I laughed so hard I almost wet myself, then worried the rest of the night that they would get killed accidentally out there and be added to the GHOST population of Richfield Rd.

Someone wanna explain why a ghost would leave behind fingerprints? Lol think about that for a second. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense!

There are many ways to defy this topic one is Newton's theory of law j gravity the other is its just like magic a illusion to the human eyes. As many see 20/20 the common eye can play very many tricks. The other well everyone knows is Newton Theory of Gravity. How the Earth rotates this myth started back way before there were even roads to the days of indians & settlers. They to defy gravity by stating its a illusion to our eye site. I live in NE Ohio the Hillest State of East Coast as your myth in NC, Maryland & even PA VA & NY it all started with hills. Nothing more then a myth created that spread & started with Gravity & the human eyes. Now you want a creepy store check out Cadalic Hill in Akron Ohio the only brickroad in Ohio right by a cementary two of them that has claim countless life's because of the first witch of Akron an unknown tomb. Real story there.

Richfield RD, NC... went there last night, and a ghost pushes you UP a hill, we did it, and it worked... its not too far from you guys, i think you should go there and test it out and see if it really is a ghost, we did put baby powder on the back of the car, and little fingerprints were back there...
