The baby powder theme is common to almost all these gravity hill urban or rural legends. There IS something to some of it though. a friend had prints on her car that never washed off! They're there, in the junkyard to this day! This is in Wilkes County.

I have gone on the one near Elkin, to me it doesn't seem like much. I believe it might be more of an optical illusion on the way the road looks. It doesn't seem much of a hill as I had imagined it, though the car does seem to go faster as you put it in neutral but it doesn't really feel like I was going down or uphill. I haven't tried the flour on the back of the car to show if there were fingerprints so I can't say either way on that one.

This is one of those urban legends that I'm guessing you'd have to see it to believe it. I'm skeptical anyways, So i go into everything open minded (because i do believe). I guess this is one thing i'll have to try (minus the part of ticking off a spirit, lol).

Guys, realize something. While there may be something to some of these stories, this is a widespread urban legend, across the country. Just like the vanishing hitchhiker. While there MAY be a basis in fact, they are mostly stories that have been carried along as people moved. The well-known one about the railroad crossing and the busload of kids, for example, is flawed in that the wreck NEVER HAPPENED! A bus wreck elsewhere on tracks did not have A SINGLE FATALITY. While I will researcdh these urban legends, and I take the widespread nature of hitchers to be evidence of that type of ghost, they must be taken with a grain of salt. If an accident like that can be documented, it could be real. But if the accident can't be documented 100%, it must be considered an urban legend til evidence surfaces. Another explanation for things happening at these locations has to do with energy of belief. If people talk about a place, and people go there expecting something to happen, eventually enough energy will build up to produce some startling effects, even if nothing ever really happened there. I am starting to believe the infamous Lydia is of this nature, as ABSOLUTELY NO DOCUMENTATION AT ALL CAN BE FOUND OF HER, HER ACCIDENT, OR HER DEATH. I KNOW HAunted NC has an update giving a name, etc... for her, but this is NOT TRUE. The person listed was in her 70's when she passed, and it was not in a wreck out there on High Point Road. I have documented this woman and several others. The fact is, THERE IS NO ONE WHO DIED IN GUILFORD COUNTY WHO FITS THE CRITERIA TO BE LYDIA. The same is the case with MOST of these Gravity Hill legends, though one in Davidson County, and one above Elkin both have documented accidents which DO fit. In Davidson, it was a stranded female motorist. In Elkin, it was a child who was hit when the current offroad was once US 21.

Just curious about which gravity hill ztababy and allan went to. As I said, the one off 21 above Elkin is merely an optical illusion. Any doubt of that can be erased by simply walking up and down that stretch of road.

The one on Richfield Rd off of Bringle Ferry Rd, in Rowan County. It has where all the high school kids come and spray print the road, and It pushes you almost a mile, and you just stop.
