me and my friends use to go to "haunted" places, but tried everywhere we could find within an 1.5 hours away and ran out of places to try. Its been a few years so i'm wondering where there is to check out within 2 hours of raleigh, or somewhere a little farther that is definitely worth going to?
we have tried pactolus light over 20 times, devils tramping ground, the luther house (apex), cry baby lane (raleigh), acid park (although not really haunted), camping for the brown mountain lights and we have never had a weird experience. we really want to just have something weird happen so whats our best bet? And whats the closest gravity hill?

My boxing gym is haunted. It is Raleigh's biggest unsolved murder. She was stabbed and left for dead right next to the gym (before it was a gym). 80 pound boxing bags will move without anyone near them or wind or anything really. There is a bar that brews beer and their machines will turn off for no reason. One of the coaches had a weird experience one time. The ghost's name is Beth-Ellen. www.ncwanted.com/unsolved/story/102645/The gym is called NBS gym and you can google it. It's right in Raleigh. I know the owner and such since I go there and I'm a coach there. I've never experienced anything weird there. I'd be interested in getting some pros in there and looking around! :-)

The Mordecai House and Andrew Johnson Birthplace are right in Raleigh, and were featured on that Sci-Fi Channel show. Bentonville Civil War Battlefield is also close, though they don't allow ghost hunting there... Then there is Bath, Roanoke Island, Wilimington, etc...

Our records team has confirmed it... The Acid Park legend is made up BS. Vollis Simpson never had a daughter named Valerie. And he didn't have an "only daughter..." He had 5 children, TWO of them daughters. Jeannie and Carol. Carol is often mentioned as the one in the story. Just one problem... BOTH daughters are VERY MUCH ALIVE! All the protests by believers in the story will NOT change these facts...
